Will ill discipline force Luis into Premier League move?

Yesterday we learnt that the 23-year-old Uruguay international, who had already been suspended for two matches by his club for an off-the-ball incident, had been banned for seven matches after biting an opponent. The incident happened during Ajax’s domestic league game against PSV Eindhoven, following a disagreement with opposition player, Otman Bakkal.

Suarez is sure not be happy with the decision from both the Dutch FA but more so his club, and arguably rumours will soon start to allude that the Uruguayan forward will look to play his football elsewhere sooner rather than later.

Should rumours begin to circulate, it will not be the first time the striker has been linked with a move away from the Amsterdam club. It was only last summer that the Ajax man was reported to have admitted that he would be tempted to move to Manchester United should the Premier League giants come calling.

Furthermore, “the 23-year-old has made it known – at least in the Netherlands – that he would like to talk to Spurs if the Londoners could agree a transfer fee with the Dutch club.” With rumours rife and Suarez’s situation at Ajax becoming evermore uncertain as time goes on, has his incident with Bakkal heighten his chances of joining the Premier League?

It would seem so; stories suggest he is destined for United or Spurs. At the beginning of the month gossip suggested “Suarez is expected to leave Ajax either in January or at the end of the season.” Surely the events of last week have edged the Uruguayan closer to the January exit door rather than the summer? With the Premier League his most likely destination.

On the other hand, we must remember speculation surrounding Suarez and a move away from Ajax is all media hype, the only people who really know the future of the controversial South American is he himself and his Club. Should the incidents of last week prove beneficial to the Premier League based suitors is yet to be seen. What do you think?
