Arsenal set to battle Everton for the signing of Marcus Tavernier
According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal are interested in Middlesbrough youngster Marcos Tavernier but will face stiff competition from Everton for his signature.

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Middlesbrough and England youth star Marcos Tavernier, who has impressed for both club and country this season.
However, Everton are also thought to be very interested in the left-sided midfielder and would offer Tavernier a greater chance of first team football.
How good has Tavernier been this season?
In short, very good. A surprise break through star in Garry Monk’s Boro team, the 18-year-old has surprised many with his confident performances and dazzling ability.

The teenager has featured six times for Middlesbrough this season, scoring winning goals against Sunderland and Bournemouth in the Championship and League Cup respectively.
Tavernier’s form has also earned him a place in the England under-19 squad, where he has made standout performances in recent games against Iceland, Bulgaria and the Faroe Islands.
Would Tavernier be a good signing for Arsenal?
At just 18 and with only half a dozen professional games to his name, it is hard to truly assess how much potential Marcus Tavernier has. However, his current boss Garry Monk has been very impressed with the teenager since his arrival on Riverside and spoke to the Northern Echo about Tavernier’s development last week;
“I have been impressed with him since I came in. I have worked with plenty of youngsters so far, and some have had a chance, but we are pleased for him because he has done well with his opportunity.”
